Capital in the Twenty-First Century

Thomas Piketty

Non-Fiction

Thomas Piketty is Director of Studies at L’École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales and Professor at the Paris School of Economics. Book focuses on wealth and income inequality in Europe and the United States since the 18th century.

My opinion

This is a brilliant book about economics and its relation to income and wealth -inequality. It also proposes some actions which we can naturally have different opinions (personally I’m not big fan of wealth tax, even though book arguments it really well). Book as a whole is well balanced and academic.

Book also forecasted current rise of populism and protectionism in western politics way before it looked likely.

For who?

Must read for anyone interested in economics.
